Meet Janie L. Anderson, BC-HIS
Janie joined The Audiology Offices team in 2007 as an administrative assistant. She completed a certification program as an audiology assistant for diagnostic testing. After working with hearing impaired patients, she was eager to advance her professional expertise. In 2013 she completed an extensive training program through The International Hearing Aid Society, which included the study of hearing science, hearing assessment and treatment and selecting and fitting hearing instruments. Upon completion of this program, Janie successfully became a licensed Virginia Hearing Instrument Specialist.
She currently has been awarded the Board Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (BC-HIS) designation by the National Board for Certification in Hearing Instrument Sciences (NBC-HIS) – the standard of excellence in hearing healthcare. This designation is a demonstration of Janie’s commitment to achieving excellence and mastering skills that translate into superior quality of care for all hearing healthcare patients.
Janie has a calm and special way of helping new and current patients acclimate to their hearing instruments. Her commitment to excellent hearing healthcare is shown daily to our patients. Our patients are surprised to learn she has a severe hearing loss and has worn hearing instruments since childhood.
A native of Virginia, Janie grew up in West Point. She resides in Middlesex County with her husband, Aaron. Their son, Chipper, resides in Virginia Beach. She enjoys spending time with her family and her friends. She is involved with her community and is active with her church and with her local volunteer fire department.
