During her 20 years as owner of The Audiology Offices, Dr. Ann DePaolo Wietsma has met many patients with limited finances to obtain quality hearing instruments. Our offices work with the local Lions Clubs to help our neighbors, but are limited to the use of good, reconditioned hearing aids in this program. The Gift of Hearing Campaign 2023 will allow us to deliver on our commitment to help our neighbors and give back to our community.

Nominees must meet the following criteria:
- Hearing loss that affects communication and quality of life
- They are in financial need (verification required)
- Agrees to publicity/share their story

Our goal has always been to improve the quality of life for those we serve and their family members. The consequences of untreated hearing loss are a serious concern. Studies have linked hearing loss to social isolation, withdrawal, depression, fatigue, memory decline, increased falls and overall poorer health. Studies have also found that individuals with chronic health conditions such as diabetes, heart disease and dementia are at greater risk to have hearing loss.
Better hearing safeguards quality of life by helping people maintain an active, healthy lifestyle and stay socially and cognitively engaged.
